Point No Point, Donna & Linc's Home

[Chris] We arrived in the lovely, and cool, state of Washington just before noon on Thursday. We had a short flight to Atlanta, the completely wrong direction but $300 cheaper, and then made great time to Seattle making the 5 hour flight in a little less than 2 ( I'm sure we will pay for that on our way home).

Donna and Linc picked us up on the curb of the airport for a nice drive across the Tacoma Narrows bridge where we saw the new bridge being built. The magazines don't do it justice and it makes the little Mississippi bridges look like toys.

Spent the first few hours glued to the windows of Donna and Linc's home. Jealous of how lucky they are to wake up to the amazing views everyday.

Spent the night talking and waiting for Tami and her two daughters, Janice and Teresa and their rabbit Tuxy, to come and spend Friday with us. The girls were excited to see us as they remembered our last trip over 10 years ago when we were here last.

Woke up to an amazing sunrise coming in our picture window on the sun porch. Even Matt rolled out of bed around 8 to the amazing view and another beautiful day. Tami and the girls took us for a short drive down to the Point No Point beach by the light house for a few hours of sand castle building. Had a good time building a huge sandcastle that was almost wiped out half way into it by some large waves but the girls saved the day with a large dam built of logs. Headed back to the house for another huge dinner grilled by Linc and watched a movie with the girls before they left so Janice could work with their horse in the morning.

Got up early again and had some fresh picked blueberry pancakes. Linc and Donna took us on a nice driving tour of the near by towns and we stopped at a very nice submarine museum and spent an hour looking and hearing stories from Linc about his days in the service.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up some fresh salmon to grill for dinner that night. Linc is spoiling us with all the great food. Its going to be hard to switch to trail food once we begin our hikes. They dropped us off at the ferry for a quick ride across where Jack met us. Will spend the rest of the night planning our day tomorrow and making a list of everything we will need before we set out on our hike.
